GLIPIZIDE helps to treat type 2 diabetes. Treatment is combined with diet and exercise. The medicine helps your body to use insulin better.

What should I tell my health care provider before I take this medicine?

They need to know if you have any of these conditions:

  • diabetic ketoacidosis
  • heart disease
  • kidney disease
  • liver disease
  • porphyria
  • severe infection or injury
